San Antonio Trip

A couple of weeks ago we invaded Texas! We had planned a trip with my family in order to celebrate Caroline's 5th birthday. We went back and forth on how to take this trip for quite some time. First we going to do the whole beach scene and then we thought about and even reserved a room at this really cool indoor waterpark hotel in Dallas. We finally decided to go to San Antonio. None of us had ever been and Mom got us plane tickets so that the kids could have that exciting experience also. Caroline loved riding in the airplane. There was a point where we hit some turbulence and I thought she was going to get scared. Instead she threw her hands up in the air and laughed, saying it was like riding a roller coaster! We stayed at the Sheradon Hotel which was right next to big, fancy outdoor shopping center. We visited the Alamo, famous riverwalk, and Sea World. The kids loved Sea World!!! This particular one had all the normal shows plus 5 roller coasters, water rides, an adult/big kid water park, and a Sesame Street water park for the little kids. There were rides for kids, a huge boat thing to climb all over and water shooting out everywhere! I didn't get many pictures at Sea World because I was afraid of getting my camera all wet!

Here is Caroline waiting to board her first airplane!
She looked so grown up carrying her backpack through the airport!

Caroline was very excited when she saw her bag being loaded onto the plane.
It was right outside her window!

We are on the hotel shuttle, riding to the shopping center.
Graham doesn't really know what to do without his car seat.
It was hard to keep him sitting down.

The kids loved playing in the hotel room just as much as everything else!

Ben and Caroline in front of the Alamo.

We all tried on hats at this particular store.....

The kids on the boardwalk..... It was so pretty! There were a million places to eat down there! We had a hard time choosing. We actually ended up eating at Joes Crab Shack because I thought the kids might enjoy the music and dancing.

We went into The Rain forest Cafe to let the kids look around. The wait was extremely long to eat there so we passed.

Ben wanted me to take this picture of the crazy hat man. Haha!

Graham loved Joes Crab Shack! He danced and laughed the entire time! I was very grateful because it was late and he had been getting cranky.

We finally made it to Sea World!
It was a long, hot day but the kids had a lot of fun.

To end this post, here are some picture of Caroline feeding the birds while we were waiting on the bus to take us to the airport. She stared feeding one or two and all of a sudden there were like twenty birds all around us! I'm sure the other people waiting did not appreciate this very much.

We learned several things on this trip, the most important being that is hard to go on a trip when you have a one year old and no car at your disposal! Taking public transportation is something I am glad to not have to deal with on a daily basis!

A few cute pictures....

These are just some random pictures that I have taken over the last few weeks.

We went to the Toad Suck festival for a little while. It was so packed that we didn't want to stay very long. The kids were OK with that since I let them get a frozen chocolate banana before we left. They were huge!

These are some pictures of the kids all dressed up for church.
They just looked so cute this morning!

After lunch the kids ate a new snack. I made strawberry/tofu pureed cones with fresh fruit on top. I have been trying to come up with healthier snacks for Graham since he doesn't hardly eat anything. I have also made homemade chocolate pudding with pureed tofu, waffle mix with sweet potatoes, lemon poppyseed cake with pureed carrots, and a few more.

To end this post......Caroline doing her new "trick". Maybe she will be a cheerleader too!

Camping!!!!

The first camping trip of the year! We went up to Choctaw on Greers Ferry Lake. The kids had a blast! The kids and I arrived at the camp site Friday afternoon. Benjamin would come after work. I unloaded everything and even set up the tent all by myself! I was so proud!

Graham loved playing in the dirt. He stayed filthy the entire time!
Each night we went to get a big bucket of warm water and washed him head to toe.

He literally rolled in the dirt!

Graham didn't know what to think of the tent. He loved it! After we set it up I had to go pay at the little guard shack. I put Graham in the stroller and we walked to it. When he saw that we were the leaving the campsite he through a fit! He kept reaching back towards the site and yelling No!!! I think he would have lived there forever.

Graham learned to slide all by himself at the park. We got our campsite right by the play area.

We all had a good time. I think we will have to give ourselves time to recover though....Keeping up with a one and half year old at the lake was pretty exhausting.

The Easter Bunny is Coming!

This Easter we went to Mississippi to visit Mimi, Aunt Beka, and Uncle Jacob.
We all had a great time.

On Saturday we went to the mall in Tupelo. The kids love going to this mall because there is a carousel and an indoor play ground.

On Easter morning Caroline woke up at 5:30am and went with Mimi to a sunrise service that she had to play the piano for. I couldn't believe Caroline went that early! When they got back we woke up Graham and Benjamin and went to find what the Easter Bunny brought us!

When Graham saw his Easter basket the first ting he does is pick up a piece of chocolate and take a bite, wrapper and all! Can you tell I don't allow him to eat candy often? We had to remove his candy from his basket pretty quickly.

At Mimi's house the kids wake up at the crack of dawn. There was lots of "play time" before we had to leave for church. The kids played outside while the rest of us were getting ready.

This is the only picture I could get of the two kiddos. Graham had been up since 6:30 am and was not going to be good for pictures.

Right before we left for church Graham sat on the concrete that Caroline had been decorating with chalk. The back of his white shorts got pink chalk all over the bottom! I took them off him immediately and tried to get the chalk off the best I could. I was NOT happy. Finally we had to leave so I just put them back on him and hoped no one would notice.
