On Saturday morning I left the house early to get to the hairdresser. I was waiting as long as possible to get my hair done this time because I knew once the baby came it would be much harder to fit that time in. I ran a few errands and then spent 3 hours at the salon. When I was finished I drove over to Walmart to get groceries for the upcoming week. I was about halfway done when I felt like my water broke. I wasn't completely sure since in my previous pregnancies the doctor had to break my water when I being induced. I called Megan to ask her opinion and she sent her husband to get my groceries since I was determined to finish up shopping if I was actually going into labor. I gave over the groceries and drove myself to the hospital. Ben was home with the kids and I told him to wait until I knew exactly what was going on. When I got to the hospital they told me that my water had broken and I was in labor. I was put in a room and called Ben, Mom, and Mimi to tell them to head this way quickly! I didn't even have a bag packed because I was so sure I would have a scheduled induction like I had with the other two. I was at the hospital was at least two hours by myself because Ben had to pack for both of us and the kids and figure out what to do with the kids if our mothers didn't get here in time. When he finally got to the hospital we called Alex to come and sit with the kids until Megan got there. The kids tired out around 9:00 and she took them to her house for a sleepover. My family made it just in time to come back and see me before I started feeling bad. I had been dilated to a 3-4 for several hours at that point. However, like with my other births, once I hit a certain point I was done. I started feeling queasy so the nurse checked me and sure enough, I had gotten to a ten in the last 30 minutes. Everyone cleared out and the doctor showed up. I was more than a little sad that Dr Gullic wasn't available to deliver. However, Dr Cole did do a good job. I pushed three times and it was over! It was a girl! We got to meet our sweet Charlotte! We had to stay at the hospital for two nights this time because of the time I had her. Our stay was nice as always, but we are glad to be home.
Love her little bow!
I got about two hours of sleep the first night we were there.
I think I was too keyed up to sleep, plus nurses were coming in my room every hour anyway!
Charlotte in her "going home" dress.
Caroline and Graham are so proud!
Beka took some newborn pictures before they left. This is jut one I took with my camera.
Hers are way better. I'll post those when she gets done with them.
At 5 days old, Charlotte went to her first softball game!
